The government Kickstart Scheme provides 6 month long high quality work placements aimed at young people (aged 16 to 24) who are on Universal Credit and are deemed to be at risk of long term unemployment. As such, Kickstart roles should not require a high level of experience of skills for young people to apply.
Funding is available for each job to cover 100% of the relevant National Minimum Wage for 25 hours a week, plus the associated employer National Insurance contributions and employer minimum automatic enrolment contributions. There is also £1,500 per job placement available for setup costs, support and training. Find out more here.

The scheme has been extended until 31st March 2022 however all new applications for placements must be made by 17th December 2021.
