"I write this the day after the Kingston and Merton EXPO25, and there were two words that leapt out to me on the day: energy and diversity.
We began planning this event back in June, and many aspects of the programme can be carefully organised, you never quite know how the day itself will unfold - but the energy, humour, networking and collaboration from everyone involved exceeded all expectations. The diversity and quality of services on display from our exhibitors also stood out, reflecting how our business community continues to grow and thrive year after year.
This success was made possible through our valued collaboration with Merton Chamber of Commerce; our Headline Sponsors, Every Child, Every Day Academy Trust, Kingston Council and Merton Council; and Headline Supporter, South London Partnership. Their commitment to our local business community plays an essential role in making events like this possible.
Equally, the day was brought to life by the people who shared their skills and knowledge - from our inspiring bite-size business speakers to the team at OMNI Business Network (facilitators of our speed networking sessions), and to Be Happy Yoga for leading a lively and restorative wellbeing session. We were also delighted to welcome Kate Scholefield for her insightful talk on business blind spots and Esther Stanhope, who truly lived up to her “Impact Guru” title.
Of course, no great event is complete without great food and hospitality - so our gratitude extends to Bone Idyll, Zega and The Cheeky Pea for keeping everyone so well fuelled throughout the day.
Further, we were honoured to be joined by Cllr Alison Holt, Deputy Leader of Kingston Council, and Cllr Stephen Alambritis MBE, Cabinet Member for Finance and Corporate Services at Merton Council, whose words of encouragement helped set a positive tone for the day’s launch.
Finally I would like offer a special thanks to our attendees who turned out in impressive numbers. The EXPO25 was a day where business meets opportunities and I hope we delivered that for you."
