The Kingston Borough Business Awards 2024 is now up and running! The KBBA recognises the outstanding achievements, innovation, diligence, and remarkable impact of the local businesses, educational institutions, and social enterprises.
There are five new categories to enter this year so take a look at: Best in Digital Communications, Best Health and Wellbeing Provider, Best in Property of the Year, Best in Sport and Fitness and Removing Barriers Champions.
There are so many wonderful submissions and examples of the creative, dedicated and resilient work in this borough. We will be nudging and nudging businesses to enter. Many of last years’ winners were too modest to initially enter but became finalists or won when they submitted their bid. Wednesday November 8th 2023 is the deadline. To read more about the categories and to enter, click here and we wish you all the best!
At the end of September, Kingston Chamber, with our sponsors Barclays Bank, hosted a Cyber Security networking event. Led by IQ in IT, an IT managed service provider in Kingston and a Chamber Patron member, they provided advice on how to protect your home and business to secure against cyber threats. With the daily rise in scams and online fraud, the advice shared is so important. It can be daunting but there are steps that can be taken to ease worries.
Thank you so much to Don Siriwardena and the team Barclays Bank for hosting us, and for IQ in IT for providing the peace of mind.
On September 27th, the Chamber and the Kingston Green Business Community (KGBC) hosted an in-person roundtable discussion on how to make your sustainable communications more effective. The issues related to how we tell our stories, how to be authentic and real, how to target our audience and to utilise a custard cream analogy which was cleverly introduced by Sam Perryman.
We would like to thank Richard Collins (CSR-A), Lucy Kane (Time & Leisure Media) and Samuel Perryman (Green Mark) and our hosts for the morning, Barwell Business Park, for a stimulating and thought-provoking session. Thank you to our attendees who contributed to the discussions.

Thursday 26th October 2023: Chessington Business Expo
Kingston Chamber have been busy finalising the programme for the Chessington Business Expo.
We have an excellent programme of marketing, finance and digital business seminars and a new roundtable discussion with local business leaders. We also have the return of our popular speed networking, the Green Zone if you want to chat about how to be more sustainable, and a business hackathon led by Kingston University.
We have created advisor zones so if you are stuck on a problem, just go and talk with the advisors there. There will be plenty of networking opportunities during the day and this is all free – it really is a special day.
