The past five years have been an immensely challenging time for many Kingston businesses and organisations, working locally, nationally or internationally. By understanding your views, we can advocate for changes locally and regionally.
We work with stakeholders (such as local Counsellors, MPs, Kingston Council, Kingston First, Kingston University and Kingston College) to explore how we can target relevant business support, integrate your feedback into local economic plans and ensure the voice of local businesses is being heard by local leaders and key decision makers.
We are proud of the work of our Patrons who contribute to the health and growth of the business, educational, retail sectors across Kingston.
Our Patrons share the values that drive the Chamber and its key partners to help the growth of the local economy. Becoming a Patron will provide you with the platform to effectively put your knowledge experience back into the business community.
The Patron membership package is aimed at organisations who want to take a leading role in shaping the future of the Kingston business community and put something special back into the borough.
This top-tier membership is designed to help larger employers and fast-growing companies enhance their profile. Patron membership is a tailored, account-managed programme that will position your brand as a cornerstone of local business, providing connection and networking opportunities with key decision-makers and business leaders.
Patronage brings important benefits to your business that are not accessible to ordinary members:
• Increased brand awareness and credibility
• A means to influence local decision-making
• Peer-to-peer networking opportunities
• The chance to showcase your commitment and contribution to the business community
Kingston Chamber is a not-for-profit organisation, so the support of our Patron members allows us to maintain cost-effective membership fees and provide additional support to smaller businesses and start-ups.
The Patron membership offers a flexible package and pricing, adaptable to the size of your organisation and objectives.
We look forward to having a conversation with you about how patronage can benefit your company and, at the same time, support a better business environment for all.

Kingston Chamber of Commerce invites you to complete a new business questionnaire. We want to hear, understand and identity the business challenges that affect you the most.
The past five years have been an immensely challenging time for many Kingston businesses and organisations, working locally, nationally or internationally. By understanding your views, we can advocate for changes locally and regionally.
We will work with stakeholders (such as local Counsellors, MPs, Kingston Council, Kingston First, Kingston University and Kingston College) to explore how we can target relevant business support, integrate your feedback into local economic plans and ensure the voice of local businesses is being heard by local leaders and key decision makers.
No matter the sector or size of business, this questionnaire will explore the factors that affect business performance, confidence and growth.
There will be four sections to the questionnaire. Each will take an anticipated 5 minutes to complete.
1: Business outlook
2: Skills and employment
3: Local transport connectivity
4: Sustainability and environmental approach
If you believe another colleague/s are better placed to complete this questionnaire, please forward this email. We are keen to get as many owner and/or staff views.
The questionnaire closes on Thursday, 29th August 2024.
This questionnaire is for businesses based in the borough, or *primarily doing business within the Royal Borough of Kingston Upon Thames.
*Primarily doing business could mean, but is not limited to, activities such as contributing directly to the growth of the Borough, delivering local services/projects or supporting business activities.
You can be assured that all data is managed in the strictest confidence and published only on an anonymised basis. The final analysis will be made public to relevant stakeholders.
Many thanks,
Kingston Chamber of Commerce Team
By proceeding to the survey you confirm that you fulfil the eligibility criteria outlined above.
RBKares supports those in need across the borough by galvanising the community to respond to their needs.
RBKares is a group of volunteers that aims to mobilise the community to respond at pace to needs that arise within the borough of Kingston amongst hospital workers, carers, refugees, care homes residents and other vulnerable groups.
We keep our ears to the ground about people in need, key workers needing a morale boost or groups to whom we can lend our creative skills and volunteering efforts. We put out calls for help on WhatsApp and Facebook to get the community to join forces and offer support.
Having supplied hospitals, care homes and key workers with scrubs, face-coverings and scrub-bags throughout the pandemic via Sewing4Kingson, we developed a strong relationship with the care homes and saw the extreme conditions they were working in. We wanted to thank them so we set up RBKares to deliver some Christmas kindness.
After Christmas we turned our attention back to Kingston Hospital where the staff were struggling under the huge pressure of the second wave. As we became known within the local community we got involved in many more projects, from artwork for the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services to sorting through donations for refugees, from running workshops to bring RBKares volunteers together to make fidget mats and craft, to delivering hundreds of ‘Kindness Kits’ to those needing support or deserving some appreciation.
In January 2022 RBKares became a registered charity 1197621. The charity responds to the changing needs of the community. RBKares has a two-fold purpose: recipients benefit from knowing that their community cares for them, and volunteers develop positive feelings from being able to help. RBKares continues to be involved in many community projects and uses WhatsApp and social media to tell members about new initiatives.

As a not-for-profit organisation, the Kingston Chamber of Commerce supports its Charity of the Year, actively engage with the local community, and foster initiatives that create lasting social impact. Established in 1905, the Chamber has been a cornerstone of Kingston’s business community, providing advocacy, networking opportunities, and business support while also fostering a strong sense of social responsibility.
A key part of the Chamber’s mission is to champion social impact initiatives that benefit both businesses and the wider community. Through partnerships with local charities, it raises awareness and funds for important causes, ensuring that businesses in Kingston play an active role in giving back. The Chamber encourages its members to support community projects, participate in volunteering opportunities, and contribute to social value programmes that make a tangible difference.
A great example is the annual Future of Work Summit, a dedicated day where experienced business owners, innovative entrepreneurs, key leaders, and practitioners from various industries come together to discuss what’s important and what’s next - helping businesses create more inclusive, productive and responsible workplaces. Similarly, smaller, regular initiatives like NetWalking foster genuine connections among business owners. This particular gathering takes place in an informal, wellbeing-focused setting, encouraging collaboration and mutual support.
Another major initiative is the Kingston Borough Business Awards, which not only recognise business excellence but also celebrate contributions to the local community. Categories such as Sustainability Impact, Best Cultural Enterprise, Best Place to Work and Growing Reputation highlight businesses that go beyond profit-making to create meaningful change.
Through these efforts, the Kingston Chamber of Commerce continues to be a driving force for economic and social progress, ensuring that businesses in Kingston upon Thames contribute to a thriving, inclusive, and socially responsible community.
